The eXtreme Terminal Performance (XTP) projectile provides the accuracy and precision that are foundational for any kind of shooting. Handloads may rule the competitive shooting world, but these Nebraska-made rounds are still great for serious target practice.
The XTP is a jacketed hollow point – fully engineered for terminal expansion, and therefore suitable for self-defense and small game hunting alike. Around the XTP’s swaged lead core lies a drawn gilding metal jacket, which is thicker in the base and narrower toward the tip. That and its notched rim help the XTP undergo fuller, more uniform expansion as it works its way through a soft medium.
Hornady recorded this 125 grain load’s 1,500 fps muzzle velocity with an 8” vented barrel. Got a shorter barrel? Expect a lower velocity. A Henry will give you the highest velocity of all, and this ammo is in fact safe for lever-action rifles. It’s new brass-cased and reloadable, too!
