We all love “shooty shooty bang bang,” but sometimes we’d rather emphasize the shooty over the bang. This 9mm cartridge by Sellier & Bellot is perfect for those times. Its 140 grain projectile doesn’t achieve a fast enough velocity upon exiting the muzzle to break the sound barrier, so its report isn’t accentuated by a supersonic “crack.” This round interfaces extremely well with a suppressed firearm for that reason, as it creates less noise for the suppressor to muffle!

This round’s non-expanding bullet is best suited for target practice. Its gilding metal jacket is made of 70 percent copper and 30 percent zinc, a rigid alloy that is coincidentally often used to make guitar strings. The non-bending jacket promotes smooth feeding from a magazine as well as the prevention of rapid bore fouling. This bullet also features a relatively flat meplat that will punch a cleaner hole through a paper target, so you’ll have an easier time assessing your performance at the range. The bullet is seated on a factory fresh brass casing, which itself houses clean burning propellant and sockets a non-corrosive Boxer primer.
